Altar Society
It is the privilege of each woman in the parish to belong to Altar Society. In order to promote a Christian family spirit, Altar Society sponsors and promotes several events throughout the year. Funds generated from activities are used for various parish needs; altar breads and wine, Christmas flowers and candles, etc. As funds permit donations are made for various items not covered by the parish budget. This is, in part, our way of striving to meet the mission of St. Jude Parish.
Funeral Dinners provide an excellent opportunity to express sympathy, sorrow, and concern to the family of the deceased. In providing this service, we eliminate the burden this would place on the family. We allow them to better deal with their grief by having the support of friends around them, without the worries involved in preparing a large meal. Volunteers are needed to provide food and to help serve.

Altar Society News
On the Wednesday evening of December 3, at 7:00 p.m. we celebrated our meeting with a pot-luck supper. St. Mary’s room was festive with greenery and poinsettias decorating the tables.
The CYO’ers with their sponsor, Shannon Benoit, visited our group, showing us their very green “survivor” tee shirts they wore for “Lock-In.”
CYO’er Andrew Barton entertained our group with several selections on his Cello.
We thank Andrew and all the CYO’ers for the amount of work and stewardship they have shown the Altar Society throughout this past year.
Our annual gift exchange was fun and as usual there is always one gift in particular we always remember from year to year. For this year ask Norene Haynes!
We were church greeters December 13 and 14.
Church cleaning was accomplished December 20.
This was our last Christmas in our church as it now stands. Can you realize that this coming new year our church will be transformed?
All the members of the Altar Society thank everyone and every group for the support they have given and shown us this past year.
We wish the entire parish community a Healthy and Happy New Year!
